As an administrator of a SharePoint 2007 farm for a diverse global manufacturer I often find challenges in communicating with key personnel at the various levels in the organization. The goal of this Blog is not to focus on the technology aspect of SharePoint but to focused on the business value for implementing a tool like SharePoint 2007 in different situations. Writing for an audience of business owners, various levels of management, stakeholders and other key decision makers in various industries I am hoping to capture some real simple business value and to get some interactive conversations going.

My initial focus will be wrapped around the manufacturing industry and the potential use of SharePoint as a business application with emphasis on the default “out of box” features of SharePoint 2007. I will not dive into custom solutions requiring programming skill sets at this time.
